What is useless to some is, to others, cool, amazing which make the world a stimulating and inspiring place. Are you one of those people who have mastered the collection of unexpected pieces of knowledge? If so, prepare to blow your mind with these interesting facts.

1. Treadmills were created to punish English prisoners in 1818:-

Treadmills for punishment were installed by an English engineer named Sir William Cubitt in 1818. He designed a machine called the "tread-wheel" to reform the stubborn and idle convicts. Prisoners would step onto the 24 spokes of a large paddle wheel, climbing it like a modern StairMaster. As the spokes turned, the gears were used to pump water or to crush grain.

2. Qatar is the only country whose roads are blue:-

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has recently blue painted Abdullah Bin Jassim Street near Souq Waqif to reduce the temperature of the asphalt by 15-20 degrees Celsius. This light color paint lowers the temperature of the road surface by reflecting the sunlight from the asphalt pavement. The 1 mm blue coating has special heat-reflecting pigments and hollow ceramic microspheres that effectively reflect infrared radiation.

3. A company that converts body ashes into diamonds:-

There is a company that will take dead body ashes and compresses them into a synthetic diamond to be set in jewelry for a loved one. These 'commemorative' diamonds produced by Algordanza have exactly the same physical and chemical properties as ordinary diamonds. Adult cremation produces about five pounds of ash and, according to the Algordanza website, at least 1.1 pounds of ash is needed to make the process work.

4. A fruit that explodes:-

A member of the spur family, the sandbox tree, grows 90 to 130 feet (27.5 to 39.5 m.) tall in its native environment. You can easily recognize the tree with its grey bark covered with cone-shaped spikes. Sandbox tree fruit looks like tiny pumpkins, but once they dry up into seed capsules, they become time bombs. When fully mature, they explode with a loud sound and launch sharp seeds at speeds of up to 150 miles (241.5 km.) per hour and distances of more than 60 feet (18.5 m.). These sharp seeds can seriously harm any person or animal in its path.

5. A dead body that would be radioactive for another 1500 years:-

Marie Curie, known as the 'Mother of Modern Physics,' died of aplastic anemia, a rare condition associated with high levels of exposure to her famous discoveries, the radioactive elements of polonium and radium. ... Her body and possessions were so radioactive that they would be radioactive for another 1500 years, and thus placed in a coffin lined with almost an inch of lead.

6. You can eat pure gold in any form without falling ill:-

Scientifically, gold is chemically inert, which means that it will not break down during digestion. "Most likely, edible gold will not be absorbed into the digestive system, and will therefore pass through the body and eliminated as waste.” Since 24-carat gold is very soft and fragile, the most edible gold — whether leaf, flakes, or dust — also contains a little bit of silver, which is also inert.

7. A tree that can produce 40 different fruits:-

The 'Tree of 40 Fruit' is the creation of Van Aken, a single tree that can produce 40 different stone fruits or fruit with pits, including peaches, apricots, plums, cherries, and nectarines. These locations include Newton, Massachusetts; Pound Ridge, New York; Short Hills, New Jersey; Bentonville, Arkansas; and San Jose, California.
