1. Treadmills were created to punish English prisoners in 1818:-
Treadmills for punishment were installed by an English engineer named Sir William Cubitt in 1818. He designed a machine called the "tread-wheel" to reform the stubborn and idle convicts. Prisoners would step onto the 24 spokes of a large paddle wheel, climbing it like a modern StairMaster. As the spokes turned, the gears were used to pump water or to crush grain.
2. Qatar is the only country whose roads are blue:-
The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has recently blue painted Abdullah Bin Jassim Street near Souq Waqif to reduce the temperature of the asphalt by 15-20 degrees Celsius. This light color paint lowers the temperature of the road surface by reflecting the sunlight from the asphalt pavement. The 1 mm blue coating has special heat-reflecting pigments and hollow ceramic microspheres that effectively reflect infrared radiation.
3. A company that converts body ashes into diamonds:-
There is a company that will take dead body ashes and compresses them into a synthetic diamond to be set in jewelry for a loved one. These 'commemorative' diamonds produced by Algordanza have exactly the same physical and chemical properties as ordinary diamonds. 4. A fruit that explodes:-
A member of the spur family, the sandbox tree, grows 90 to 130 feet (27.5 to 39.5 m.) tall in its native environment. Scientifically, gold is chemically inert, which means that it will not break down during digestion. "Most likely, edible gold will not be absorbed into the digestive system, and will therefore pass through the body and eliminated as waste.” Since 24-carat gold is very soft and fragile, the most edible gold — whether leaf, flakes, or dust — also contains a little bit of silver, which is also inert.
