An artifact can be anything and it will be different for each person. It may be a trophy or medals, photos, family heirlooms, a favorite book, a favorite little toy, jewelry, clothing, sports equipment, any other object that reminds you of something important.
Artifacts provide essential clues for researchers studying ancient cultures. Here we have collected several images of historical artifacts that will blow your mind away:-

6. The 5,400-year-old Mesopotamian 'Gebel el-Arak Knife', made with elephant ivory and flint. The engraving depicts their king as Master of Animals. 3450 BCE.
7. A Spectacular Roman Pugio (Dagger), found sheathed in its silver inlaid scabbard in a grave at Haltern am See, Germania. Dated to the Augustan Period, 37 B.C. to 14 A.D, a time when some 20,000 Romans were killed in this area around 9 AD.
8. An Aztec Turquoise mosaic mask representing Xiuhtecuhtli, the god of fire, 1400-1521 CE. The mask is of cedar with mother-of-pearl eyes and conch shell teeth. The British Museum.
9. Egyptian artifacts from flooded ancient cities of Heraklion and Canopus, Minneapolis Arts Institute.
10. A kusarigama (chain-and-sickle weapon) with inscriptions. Japan, Muromachi Period, 1514.
11. Bronze comb from the Danish Older Bronze Age 1750-1100 BC. The Bronze comb was found in a grave in Viborg, Denmark.
12. A Samurai Sujibachi kabuto, signed Myochin Munesuki, Japan, 17th - 18th century. From Christies.
13. Roman glass bottle, dating from the 1st century CE.
14. A pair of intricately cut shoes that were found on a body preserved in a peat bog. Ca 300 BC.
15. Roman Gold Earring with pearls and garnets, 200's AD.
16. Elephant armor from 17th century India. It’s made up of 5,840 plates and weighs an insane 118kg.
17. The famous helmet recovered from the Sutton Hoo burial in Suffolk, England, dated late 6th-early 7th century, housed at the British Museum.
