The HAL Tejas is an Indian made multirole fighter jet plane, which is manufactured in India. It has many unique features like - It is a single-engine, delta-wing fighter plane that provides greater stability or due to a single-engine its weight is also reduced so it is capable to bring an extra amount of weapons due to which their capability of strike and effectiveness is increased.

It is designed by the Aeronautical development agency (ADA) and Manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). It is come to replace India's ageing MIG-21 fighter jet. Tejas has a unique design, it has a tailless compound delta-wing configuration with a single dorsal fin. This provides better stability and high performance than conventional wing design.

               The HAL Tejas is the second supersonic fighter jet developed by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) after the HAL HF-24 Marut. Tejas MK-1 is a single crew fighter aircraft and its height is 4.4 m and length is 13.2 m. Tejas has a maximum speed of Mach 1.8 and it is armament with S-8 rocket, Air to air missiles (Derby, Python-5, R-73), Air to surface missiles (KH-59, DRDO anti-radiation missile), Anti-ship missiles (KH-31, KH35) and some special types of bombs like- Laser-guided bombs, Glide bombs, Cluster weapons. The HAL Tejas has a GTRE GTX-35VS Kaveri engine, which is an afterburning turbofan engine developed by the Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE) in Bangalore, India. This engine has a two-spool with low pressure (LP) and high pressure (HP) axial compressor where LP compressor has 3 fan stages and transonic blading and HP compressor has 6 fan stages and variant inlet guide vanes and first two stators. This engine comes with an annular, with dump diffuser and air-blast fuel atomiser type combustors which provides proper combustion of fuel at maximum speed also.

               Tejas is constructed of aluminium - lithium alloys, Carbon - fibre composites and titanium alloy. Upper and lower wing skins are manufactured from a single piece of carbon - fibre reinforced polymer. This carbon fibre also helps in reducing aircraft weight, wing spars and ribs are also made out of carbon composites. The radome (which is a portmanteau of radar and dome) is made out of Kevlar ( which is a bulletproof material), While the fin tip is made out of glass fibre reinforced plastic. Tejas has lightweight because composite materials are used to make an aircraft lighter compared to an all-metal. The wing and fins of the aircraft are also made up of carbon - fibre - reinforced polymer and were designed to provide a minimum weight structure and to serve as an integral fuel tank. Tejas can fly day and night also because it has a Night Vision Goggles (NVG) compatible 'glass cockpit'. Tejas is also to be equippable with an infrared search and track sensor which can detect and track thermal energy emissions. Tejas play an important role in the Indian airforce and navy, It is a flying panther of the sky.
